Session Description
Dave Hogan and Debbie Hogan, both MCC coaches, coach trainers, mentor coaches and coach supervisors, will facilitate a learning process using the D-O-R2 process: demonstrate, observe, reflect and refine ones coaching capability. One MCC Coach with a volunteer will demonstrate a live coaching session on a real coaching topic. The other MCC Coach will invite the observers to note and observe one of the 8 ICF Coaching Competencies and how the coach demonstrates (or does not demonstrate) the competencies. Participants will have a choice as to which competency they want to observe and note the coaches questions, behavior and stance throughout the coaching session. Participants will be invited to share their observations and reflections during small breakout groups. Then they will be invited to share their reflections in the open plenary session and what, if any, insights or shifts in awareness emerged for them during the learning process.
Participants are encouraged to read the ICF Code of Ethics and ICF Coaching Competencies in preparation for this session. Please come prepared to volunteer to be coached with a topic or to be willing to participate as an observer on one of the competencies and reflect on your learning.
Note – Limited to 20 pax.
Registration, therefore, will be on a first come first served basis.

Participants will learn:
- Attendees will learn the D-0-R-R process for reviewing and reflecting on their coaching to develop confidence and competence; this process can easily be duplicated in various formats
- Attendees will learn to identify specific behaviors, questions and stance of the coach, that demonstrate core ICF competencies
- Attendees will learn from the interaction with peers and MCC Coaches in a rich learning environment and have opportunity to hear different points of view and perspectives
About The Speaker(s)
DEBBIE HOGAN, MS, CCPC-CSFC, IASTI-MSFC, EMCC-MP, EMCC-ESIA, ICF-MCC, SINGAPORE, USA
Debbie has degrees in Psychology and Counselling with over 30 years as an Executive and Team Coach. Debbie is a Master Solution Focused Coach and Examiner for CCPC and IASTI certifications, Master Practitioner and Accredited Coach Supervisor with EMCC, and Master Certified Coach with the ICF. Debbie trained with Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer, the developers of Solution Focused practice and founded the Academy of Solution Focused Training in 2004. She was the first to bring Solution Focused Coaching and Certification to Asia, and has trained and certified thousands of coaches globally for 20 years. Her coach training is accredited at ACC Level 1, PCC Level 2, and soon at MCC Level 3 with ICF. She served as VP and Director of Membership at ICF Singapore from 2019 – 2021. She was instrumental in developing the first Solution Focused Coach Supervision Course, accredited by EMCC. She contributed to The Art of Solution Focused Therapy, Encounters with Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, co-editor of Solution Focused Practice in Asia, and Solution Focused Practice Around the World. Her current book projects, Solution Focused Coaching in Asia and Solution Focused Supervision for Coaches will be published in 2024
DAVE HOGAN, MTh, CCPC-CSFC, IASTI-MSFC, EMCC ITCA, EMCC-SP, ICF-MCC, SINGAPORE, USA
Dave has over 26 years experience as a consultant, trainer and coach. He has degrees in French, Theology and Counselling and specializes in coaching, training, mentoring and leadership development. He conducts training for organizations in team coaching, leadership development and career transitioning. As an executive coach, he works with CEOs, top level managers and leaders in local and multi-national companies. Dave is a CCPC Certified Solution Focused Coach, Master Solution Focused Coach with International Alliance of Solution Focused Teaching Institutes, and Master Certified Coach with ICF. He is an accredited Team Coach with the EMCC and a Mentor Coach with the ICF. Dave is the Director of the Academy of Solution Focused Training and has been training and certifying coaches across Asia with the CCPC and IASTI since 2004. His coach training is accredited at ACC Level 1, PCC Level 2, and soon MCC Level 3. He is co-editor of Solution Focused Practice in Asia with Debbie Hogan, Jane Tuomola and Alan Yeo, a first in Asia. Dave is Chapter President of Solution Focus in Organisations (SFiO) and is actively involved in the international community of SF practitioners.
