The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards, providing independent certification, and building a worldwide network of trained coaching professionals. There are currently more than 35,000 coaches worldwide, with more than 29,000 Credential-holders and more than 140 chapters around the world.
ICF Malaysia organises leadership and coaching conferences to strengthen the bonds among our community of professional coaches, as well as provide learning opportunities for organizations and individuals seeking coaching and leadership development.
Today, ICF Malaysian has grown to become a 150-member strong community, signifying the progress that professional coaching has made in the last decade. We continue to forge ahead to realize ICF’s vision to advance coaching and and make it an integral part of a thriving Malaysian society.
ICF Malaysia Charter Chapter Leadership Through the Years...
March 19, 2002 – The ICF Malaysia Chapter was formed with a passion to grow a community of professional coaches in Malaysia. The Chapter’s Founding President Dr. Michael Heah gathered a small group of coaches. A Chapter Formation Agreement was established.
2005-2006 – Ms. Jennifer Low became the 2nd President.
2007-2008 – Mr. Wai K. Leong served as the 3rd President. 6 May 2008 – A revised Chapter Formation Agreement was signed with the Executive Director of ICF Global. This paved the way for ICF Malaysia to be represented visually through ICF branding and gave the right to use the ICF Logo.
2009-2010 – Mr. Wai K. Leong remained Chapter President.
2010-2011 – Ms. Frances Penafort served as Chapter President.
2012-2013 – Ms. Tessie Lim served as President.
2014 – Mr. Wai K. Leong was re-elected as Chapter President but vacated late 2014 when he became a Board Director within the ICF Global Organisation, giving ICF Malaysia presence in the global coaching community.
2015 – 2016 – Ms. Florence Lam served as President.
2016-2018 – Mr. Sam Kurian served as President.
2018-2020 – Mr. Jeff Cheah served as President.
2020-2022 – Ms. Grace Lee served as President.
2022-2024 - Mr Ken Ng is the current President.
