ICF Foundation
In 2020, ICF Malaysia rolled out the ignite initiative locally by partnering with Teach for Malaysia (TFM), an independent, non-profit organization on a mission to give all children in Malaysia the opportunity to attain an excellent education.
Led by Michael Kim, PCC, ICF Malaysia worked closely with TFM to pair 18 staff comprising as associates, managers and senior managers with ICF credential coaches. The program took place between August 2020 and January 2021, during which ICF coaches partnered with TFM staff to work on meaningful goals that would help the staff step up to transform the culture within the TFM workplace and community.
Both TFM staff and ICF coaches closed the project and celebrated the fruitful partnership on 25 January 2021. The virtual get-together over zoom was filled with fun, laughter and heartfelt appreciation for the five-month coaching relationship between the coaches and the coachees.

ICF Malaysia will continue to explore opportunities that will increase its role in imparting the power of coaching throughout Malaysia. Until today, we remain inspired by the late coaching pioneer Sir John Whitmore and the impact IGNITE has on every society.
The need for what coaching offers is everywhere and, in every institution, every corporation, every school, and every social structure. Coaches are midwives at the birth of a new social order, one in which compassion for all people and caring for all nature and our only home form the core theme. What more rewarding challenge could there be?”
