About the Coach

Wan has an extensive experience in sales, sales management, and training & development for the past 39 years in an MNC for Malaysia & Singapore. When he was working with the MNC he has:

• 4 years as a sales rep.
• 5 years sales management.
• 30 years training & development of the sales force, sales management, marketing,
and the medical team.

As Training Lead he has developed best-in-class sales force to perform above the industry’s market growth, complimented by a proven structured selling skill module. For a sustainable strong above industry yearly market growth, he believes the sales managers are guardians of execution. To achieve that, he builds competent sales managers through embracing leadership performance management tools and coaching for excellence programs. Being guardian in Leading Performance Excellence the recent five years, he is solely responsible for the twice yearly “coaching clinic assessments”, enhancing the coaching competency of sales managers. Besides that he also drives strong one team collaboration among the sales, marketing and medical team for execution excellence.

Through his passion and unconditional commitment, he has served the role as Regional Trainer for South-East Asia, Taiwan & Hong Kong from 2009-2014. In this role, he train-the-trainers in new product launches for the region’s sales, marketing & medical team. During that period, he also co-facilitates the roll-out of the marketing excellence program for the region. All in all, Wan has trained and coached more than 1000 staffs in this MNC.

Wan was a part-time lecturer for the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK (CIM UK) program to post-graduate diploma level from 2009-2013. He partakes actively as the council member with the CIM Malaysia Chapter from 2009-2017, and has contributed marketing CPD talks.

As a Sales Performance Coach since 2010, Wan provide real time coaching feedback to sales reps and sales managers. He does regular monthly field “tripartite coaching calls” to customers for both Malaysia and Singapore. His main focus is on upskilling the coaching conversation competencies of sales managers to their reps, via the coaching for excellence model. The tripartite coaching call has enhanced the trust and transparency between the sales reps with their sales managers. Wan also provides team coaching and one-on-one coaching to not only the sales managers, but also the managers in the marketing and medical team.

Strategically, in 2019 Wan initiated and completed a high quality “live training video recording” of the full series disease areas, product knowledge and selling skills of F2F training modules. The recorded videos was uploaded to the company’s e-portal and has been a major resource to the South East Asian region for all new on-board reps where F2F training was a challenge during the Covid-19 pandemic period. This also helps new on-boards better transition before F2F training, reduces F2F / virtual training time, and ultimately huge cost savings.
