ICF requires us to have mentor coaching to gain our credentials and advises us to have supervision. What’s the difference? Can you and should you have both?
Jenny Bird, MCC who has mentored numerous coaches for all levels of credential, been an ICF credentialing assessor and was for about 7 years the person in the UK who answered all the queries about credentials, will guide us through the difference and tell us why, in her view, if we’re serious about our coaching practice, we should all be in supervision regularly! Jenny still is….even after 20 years as a coach. She’ll share the definitions, benefits and possibilities.
This session will challenge you to think about what challenges you in your coaching practice, how you learn and develop as a coach and how you keep fresh in your skills and approaches as well as connected with professional practice.
At the end of the sessions participants will have;

Jenny has been a coach since 2000 and an MCC since 2006. She has been an ICF assessor, a mentor coach and a coach trainer. She supervises coaches internationally, individually and in groups. She is co author, with Sarah Gornall, of The Art of Coaching, Routledge 2016 and How to Work with People … and Enjoy It!, Routledge 2019. She has written numerous articles, blogs and research papers in professional journals. She is in demand as a speaker at conferences, webinars and training events and has worked with coaches in Latvia, Spain, Egypt, Germany, France, Israel, Russia, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Kenya, Singapore, Australia and the USA and, of course, the UK.
And, most constantly, she is a coach working, usually, with senior leaders in both the public and corporate environments. She runs a small coaching consultancy which “likes to partner generously with clients”. She relishes the rich variety of the work and has an insatiable interest in how we communicate with, and relate to, each other.
