THE SHIFT IS REAL: HOW TO CONSISTENTLY WIN LUCRATIVE CORPORATE CLIENTS FOR YOUR COACHING BUSINESS IN 2018 AND BEYOND
Session Description:
If it feels like it is taking longer and requiring more effort to reach decision makers in corporate organizations today, rest assured: it’s not your imagination. Research proves it.
In fact, we’re experiencing sales gravity like never before.
Decision makers are busier, more distracted and more frazzled. They have more filters and gatekeepers. The interdependencies and complexities they face have multiplied. And they’re doing more self-diagnosing without outside insight or perspective.
Consequently, decision makers have slowed down the pace at which they make buying decisions. Not to mention, they are involving more of their peers in those decisions so as to avoid career-limiting moves.
The irony of course is that this cocktail of complexity and delay often prevents organizations from effectively engaging with the very experts and vendors — such as executive coaches — who can help them solve their most pressing challenges.
In this fast-paced session, Angelique Rewers, CEO and founder of The Corporate Agent, will give you an overview of the most effective strategies for winning corporate clients today, from prospecting through post-sale follow-through to secure the next engagement. These techniques and strategies are designed to pierce through the toughest, most pervasive barriers that stand between you and your ideal clients. Most importantly, these proven approaches are based on real-world experience — and are those that Fortune 500 decision makers have lauded as “the missing ingredients” that “every expert and small business owner needs to hear.
Session Takeaways:
Here’s what you will learn:
- The three pervasive challenges you face in winning high-paying corporate clients for your coaching business — and the specific, actionable strategies that work to overcome them
- How to gain control of the sales conversation process so you don’t become merely an “order taker” at the coaching drive-thru window
- How to expand each coaching client engagement into even more lucrative, strategic opportunities that provide long-term cash flow to your business (and bigger transformation for your clients)
- How you can make a lasting transformation to your coaching business with just a handful of power moves

POWERFUL CONVERSATIONS TO CHANGE MINDSET
Core Competencies | 1.75 |
Resource Development | – |
Speaker:
Steve Levin, MCC, thrives on coaching executives through their toughest situations. His methods have actually gotten simpler but more effective through 25 years of practice and study of advanced coaching skills. He is expert in designing and leading powerful conversations that create an expansive mindset, profound insight, and faster results.
For the past 10 years, he has mentored experienced coaches through his course, “Powerful Conversations.” This started when he noticed that many competent coaches miss opportunities to fully engage their clients from the outset. They are too concerned with getting clients comfortable instead of adding profound value. He specializes in teaching the art and science of rigorous challenge while firmly remaining on the client’s side.
His formal background builds on a B.A. and M.A. in Organizational Behavior from Yale University, plus extensive training from a variety of prominent coaching schools. In his prior career, he managed a $100 million product line. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and provides pro bono coaching support to support African literacy and address climate change.

Session Title:
POWERFUL CONVERSATIONS TO CHANGE MINDSET
Session Description:
In a Powerful Conversation, you focus on shifting the mindset of your client, not their views. Join us to learn how to design and lead coaching conversations that spark insight and create momentum for change. Through a live demonstration and instant feedback, we will practice a 4-stage coaching model to get to core issues quickly, then provoke new thinking through a blend of heartful empathy and rigorous challenge at the same time.
This session is ideal for experienced coaches who already know the basics and are ready to be stretched to take their clients deeper, faster. Come prepared to experiment with live coaching that takes you to the edge of your comfort zone (and perhaps a bit further!) Expect to give and receive feedback on how to make your coaching conversations more effective in producing profound change.
We will use a few advanced models and tools from the Powerful Conversations course to deepen our live coaching. For more background on our method, see: www.leadingchange.net/pc
Session Takeaways:
- 1. You will learn how to build trust instantly by being more grounded, present, and direct, instead of “easing in” or “building trust first.”
- 2. You will learn how to combine heartfelt empathy with rigorous challenge in the same moment. Too much empathy is “soft”, and too much rigor is “harsh”, but the combination of empathy and rigor is unstoppable!
- 3. You will become more aware of your own “edge” and learn to authorize yourself to make a bigger difference for your clients, without compromising your authentic self.
Core Competencies:
We will touch on most of the core competencies, but especially these:
B. Co-creating the Relationship
3. Establishing Trust and Intimacy with the Client
4. Coaching Presence
C. Communicating Effectively
5. Active Listening
6. Powerful Questioning
7. Direct Communication
D. Facilitating Learning and Results
8. Creating Awareness
The demonstration of live coaching focuses on these “middle stages” of a profound conversation, vs. the initial contracting and the follow up action plan.

NARRATIVE COACHING: PRINCIPLES & PRACTICES
Session Description:
The webinar seeks to describe the key tenets and principles of Narrative Coaching. Importantly, key narrative practices which coaches can incorporate into their daily practice will be shared.
Narrative is something we all use, without necessarily realising it! We all use stories to make sense of our experiences. The webinar will support coaches in more consciously realising the role of stories (everything is a story) in their clients’ lives, and how opening up more generative future possibilities through understanding the power of story can help clients toward their desired futures.
Session Takeaways:
- Key theoretical tenets;
- Different narrative approaches;
- Practical takeouts, in practical application of narrative practices.
Core Competencies:
I consider that coaches applying a narrative approach will be using every single ICF core competency, ie all eleven from ethics through to managing progress & accountability. Everything we talk about is a story. Understanding the role that story plays in identity, in creating futures, helps us to contract for session outcomes better, to listen for values, to ask great questions, to challenge, to create awareness and so on.

THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM COACHING AND WHY IT MATTERS
Session Description:
Fundamentally, coaching is coaching whether the client is one person or a team of 12. The core principles and the underlying model are the same. Many of the skills and competencies are familiar. But the application to the work with teams creates a new and unique set of conditions. The truth is, the differences between individual coaching and team coaching go way beyond the simple numbers. To be an effective team coach it’s important to recognize the distinctions and the affect they have on the work with teams.
Join Team Coaching International co-founder, Phil Sandahl as he unpacks the differences and what those differences mean in practical terms in coaching teams. Phil Sandahl is ideally positioned for this subject, with years of experience in both worlds. He is a former senior faculty member for The Coaches Training Institute (CTI), the world’s largest coach training organization. He is co-author of “Co-Active Coaching”—the bestselling text on the subject of individual coaching with more than 120,000 copies in print.

- The importance of and guidelines for designing the many relationships inherent in team coaching: between coach and team; among team members; between coach and team leader
- Where clients start is different (teams vs individuals) and where the focus is will also be different: what those differences are and the impact on coaching teams
Core Competencies:
- Setting the Foundation – especially establishing the Coaching Agreement
- Co-Creating the Relationship – especially Establishing Trust (multiple relationships) and Coaching Presence (dancing in the moment with a team of 10 vs one individual client)
- Facilitating Learning and Results – especially creating awareness; there is an essential shift in team coaching from “me” to “we” with team clients; that awareness shift is important for development, action and accountability.

STOP RESCUING: START COACHING!
Session Description:
As coaches, our passion to be change-agents may sometimes be confused with rescuing and saving others. As a rescuer, we unknowingly disempower our clients and interfere with their development. Attending coaches will experience immediate personal insights into rescuing behaviour, and new awareness on how to shift into coaching ways of being, listening and taking action.
Based upon David Emerald’s book, The Power of TED*, coaches will become more aware of their rescuing behaviour when they rescue clients, and insights into how to stop rescuing and start coaching. They will also receive strategies on how to challenge clients who rescue others.
Session Takeaways :
TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic) provides a practical and positive way to relate and work together with less drama. This introductory workshop will outline the three Karpman Drama Triangle roles of victim, persecutor and rescuer and how to shift into the far more resourceful TED* roles of Creator, Challenger and Coach.
Additional takeaways include insight into:
• When they get “triggered” and fall into the reactive roles of victim, persecutor or rescuer;
• Awareness of their unmet need that may be behind their tendency to rescue;
• How to focus more on what they want (and what their clients want) rather than on what they don’t want and;
• Profound coaching tools and exercises to support a shift from drama to empowerment.
Core Competencies :
The TED* work, especially the Stop Rescuing– -Start Coaching session, addresses many of the ICF core competencies including: Coaching Presence, Active Listening, Direct Communication, Creating Awareness and Powerful Questions.

MASTERFUL COACHING PRESENCE: A MODEL OF TRUST, SPACE, AND FOCUS
Session Description:
What is masterful coaching? We want our clients to get somewhere, to find an answer, to solve a problem. After all, isn’t this is what coaching is really all about? But, what if it isn’t? What if we let go of that focus completely and ONLY focus on accepting our clients right where they are in the moment?
What does this look like? How does it work? Applying the model of Coaching Presence: Trust, Space, and Focus, coaches will be able to experience the shift from needing to ‘get an answer’ to allowing the coaching process to unfold, easily and organically, toward the best and most perfect conclusion for the coaching session.
Clients really DO get somewhere, find their answers, and solve their problems! The context of the coaching conversation, versus the content, is the focus and practice of this highly experiential session.
Whether you are new to coaching, or a seasoned practitioner, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to add nuance and depth to your coaching.
A coaching demo will be included in this session.
Session Takeaways :
• How to set a coaching agreement at the beginning of a session
• To relax and trust the coaching conversation
• How to completely trust the client and the process of coaching
• Observe a coaching session

Have you ever asked these questions?
- What do I do when my client feels stuck but I’m not sure what to say?
- I am told to be more present so I can hear what the client really needs, but I am not sure what I can do beyond what I’m already doing. What else can I do to be more present and listen more deeply?
