Session Description

What is the missing competency for leaders, teams and organizations today? The competency of social influence and depth of network across various domains and industries. Leaders and coaches today need to leverage a deep network of connections built over the years to have an edge that will aid them in times of crisis, challenges and growth.

Many schools and workspaces have skill-based trainings for their students and employees, but a key element that is missing is the ability of the individual to create their personal brand that influences and is felt and valued. In recent times, terms like “social selling” and “personal branding” have gained exponential exposure, but few are able to understand their impact and the way to growing their influence.

Our influence creates perceptions in others that have intrinsic meaning attached to them and that are orbital in nature. Like the planets orbiting around the sun, these influences and perceptions create an orbit around us. Have you had traits in the past that no longer hold true today but yet still circle around you when you meet peers you have not seen for a while? These are perceptions that have been anchored over time, and they impact how others remember us. Their influence and orbital pull might not be strong, but they still trigger us.

What enables the orbital influence is the augend and addend principle. “Augend” represents the initial quantity of something, and “addend” represents the second quantity that is added to the first.

The augend and addend principle to grow one’s orbital influence, which will add up to exponentially leapfrog one’s presence and add to their overall personal brand image.
