FIND A COACH
The ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.
Professional coaching is an interactive process that helps individuals and organizations improve their performances and achieve extraordinary results. Professional coaches work with clients in all areas, including business, career, finances, health and relationships. As a result of professional coaching, clients set better goals, take more action, make better decisions, and more fully use their natural strengths.
Coaches are listed either under the category "ICF Credentialed Coaches" or “Trained Coaches” based on their respective coaching qualifications.
Find a Credentialed Coach
Coaches listed here are Professional Coaches who have been credentialed by the International Coach Federation (ICF). They have met ICF’s stringent requirements of coaching.
In May 2015, ICF adopted new requirements for the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credentials that will restrict eligible coaching experience hours to those completed after the start of coach-specific training. These changes are intended to raise the standard of credentialing, provide for a clear demonstration of coaches’ experience as a direct result of coach-specific training and emphasize currency of client-coaching hours to ensure that coaches who earn ICF Credentials are currently practicing.
Master Certified Coach (MCC):
Minimum 200 hours of Coach-specific Training; minimum 2,500 hours of coaching experience; coached by a mentor coach.
Professional Certified Coach (PCC):
Beginning October 1, 2015, ICF will require PCC applicants to complete 500 hours (down from 750 hours, under the existing policy) of client-coaching experience following the start of their coach-specific training. Minimum 125 hours of Coach-specific Training; coached by a mentor coach.
Associate Certified Coach (ACC):
Beginning October 1, 2015, ICF will require ACC applicants to complete 100 hours of client-coaching experience following the start of their coach-specific training. Minimum 60 hours of Coach-specific Training; minimum 100 hours of coaching experience; coached by a mentor coach.
